Sylvia, Where Are You?

Forgive a personal plea, folks, but I need help. I have been trying to reach my sister Sylvia by telephone in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, for many hours and cannot get through. From my last phone conversation with her I know that she and my mother were not going to stay in the beach house, and were probably going to ride out the storm in Gulf Hills, just north of Ocean Springs. That was well before Katrina suddenly veered east of New Orleans and hit the Mississippi Gulf Coast instead. I have lost Sylvia's cell phone number; if anyone in Mississippi--or elsewhere--knows anything about Sylvia, my mother Wilma Bosco, or my niece Reagan, please e-mail me. Look for the link in the right hand corner of this blog.

It would be the greatest 57th birthday present I could receive--yes, it's my birthday. Thank you.

Happy birthday, Joseph. Reagan and I are good friends from AU. I'm trying to reach her to make sure she's okay. Your sister Sylvia is a wonderful lady. I've been to the house in Ocean Springs. It's a great place. Will you post again when you hear from them? I will post if I hear from Reagan. You and your family are in my prayers.

Thank you. I am extremely concerned. I do not know where they finally chose to go to ride it out. My sister is indeed a wonderful lady, and a very courageous one, which is one of the reasons I am so concerned for their safety: her lack of fear. She wanted to stay in the beach house at first. Wherever she is, my mother is with her and, as I'm sure you know, her medical condition will make whatever the situation is all the more difficult.

I will immediately post any news I receive. Please do let me know if Reagan contacts you. I am not even sure that she is with Sylvia and mom.

Joseph,
Reagan and family are OK. I am another friend of Reagan's from AU, who is in close touch with the first friend who left the message here yesterday. A third friend was able to track down Reagan's best friend in Aspen who received a message from Reagan this morning saying that her and her family are in a shelter and are OK. That's really all we know, but so happy to hear something from them.
